The Gray Mountains are an imposing sight. Jagged peaks combine with deep chasms make for a nearly impassable wall. Rumors abound about secret passes through the mountains, yet the only known path is Cheviot Pass, and even it is no easy trek. Only the hardiest of travelers can survive the perilous trail that leads from Cheviot to Highpoint.
The pass is treacherous in many ways. Frigid temperatures and near constant snowstorms are the least of a traveler’s worries. It is no secret that giants roam the Gray Mountains, and they have little love for humanity’s forays into what they consider their home.
Heavily guarded caravans regularly travel between Cheviot and Highpoint, escorted by the Gulnir army. On average, 3 out of 4 of these caravans arrive at their destination. Those who foolishly travel through the pass without experienced guards are never heard from again.
